Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We ordered two pizzas and a couple of drinks, and it was well worth the time. I asked about how much garlic is on their margarita pizza, and they showed genuine concern and assured me not a lot of garlic is on the pizza and it was great and did not upset our tummies. They even brought a bowl of water out for our fur babies. Service was tremendous, and the food was delicious. If you are ever in the area, stop on by and have a drink and some food"
"Super impressed WOW, overseas family visitors here for my beautiful daughter’s birthday needed a special destination after touring the local area and bays. The atmosphere and ambiance struck us all as we entered, we were allocated a nice table and had 4 charming waitpeople looking after us to my astonishment my water glass was filled for me! We got various meals and shared them. Great drinks and very nice coffee was served. Would recommend WARKWORTH HOTEL to my very discerning friends and travellers to call in! You will be suitably impressed!"
"Lovely old building, with a great old fashioned dining room (fire place, Queen Victoria portrait, grandfather clock and Tiffany lamps included). Fish and chips to die for. Took a while to get the food (we were warned up front, and the outside area was full at the time, so unavoidable). But the drinks were prompt and refills offered throughout the wait."
"Came for coffee time and wanted to see what is what like in such a historic looking building. Inside was fancy and boutique. The staff were attentive and the food was quite good. There was a little bit of pressure there whilst taking photos as to not obstruct the waiters. I would come back to try their cocktails and dinner items if I were not driving."
"Really awesome place with great music, good options for gluten free and nice relaxing service."
"Sunday roast meal was amazing! Great portion and very tasty. Lovely live piano performance. Lovely interior design and atmosphere. Feels like a luxury to be here. The hotel its own story and identity. Friendly staff"
"Worth the trip or stop if you’re on the Sh1, a place with great atmosphere and excellent staff. Great for a coffee break just as much as lunch or dinner, amazing burgers and steak as well as green options for vegetarians. All while you enjoy some of the Victorian era Charme."
"I challenge you to find better fish and chips in New Zealand! And they are GF/DF!! I recommend having it with a glass of Mumm Marlborough bubbles! You just can’t beat a walk along the Mahurangi River until you build up an appetite and then a relaxing lunch at Warkworth Hotel"
